Dear friends and visitors,
it is just a couple of days ago when I received a note from DA that my membership is exactly a year old. This is time to look back. I started with my account because I found some links to artistic nude shots on the web, which were from DA and required a registration to access them. After learning about the wide scope of the platform I decided to post some of my stuff in return.
Meanwhile I have most of my sculptures uploaded. And there has been a lot of traffic on the page: nearly 5500 page views and 64.000 deviations viewed in 12 month that is a lot! Thanks to all my friends and visitors.
A lot of motion on my page in the days following the the 2 DD´s I received:
The first for my cello torso (

The second for my twisted laying torso 2 (

Thanks again to these wonderful supporters of my art work.
Looking back as well I have received a lot from this 12 month of membership:
There was a lot of inspiration for my own art from works of other artists
A lot of indulgence in art in all the different media, brilliant concepts and ideas, which are not at all related to my own work, but are of enormous pleasure for me as an art lover
I have received a lot of support through the wonderful comments from other artists and art lovers
And last but not least a lot of exchange with people from all over the world.
Finally I do have a platform with my artwork I can show to friends, even though they are not members of DA. I had a website before, but it took too much effort to maintain, update it etc. Therefore my DA-page replaces this own site.
Saying this, being member of DA has been a wonderful experience for me. Thanks to all of you, administrators, members, visitors of this great network! I wish all of you a wonderful, successful, healthy and lucky 2012.
And looking back to the year 2011 from my artist perspective I have had a couple of good milestones: I was able to finish another 7 pieces, some of which I am really proud of. And during this time I was attending the symposium in Lomonossow in Russia, which was a huge challenge, as I had to finish a sculpture from a 1 ton block of granite. See more of this in the last journal (
[link] ) and some shots taken during the creative process of myself and my fellow sculptors in my gallery.
Looking forward I am keen to see new works from you and hope to find time for sculpting to be able to contribute with lots of new stuff from myself.
Stay all well,
Michael
